As an avid hoops fan and if I had the means, I would travel to Akron for this year's 2008 King James Tourney. The event is loaded this year and according to an article will feature some of Kentucky's top players.
Jon Hood 6-7 Nashville Celtics 17U
Jacob Jenkins 6-4 Indiana Elite 17U
Richie Phares 6-7 Derek Smith Allstars 17U
Dakotah Euton 6-8 Ohio Basketball Club 16U
Chad Jackson 6-4 Ohio Basketball Club 16U
Aaron Cosby 6-2 Kentucky Hoopstars 16U

By all accounts, Hood played really well at the Real Deal on the Hill in Arkansas last weekend. Looks like he's bounced back well from that wrist injury. I look for Hood to just get better and better and maybe end up in the Rivals top 50 by the end of the season.

Samsel who plays for the Spiece gym rats 2010 team looked really good playing the point at the Real Deal on the Hill 16u. They won the Silver bracket. Playing the point Samsel averaged 14 pts/gm and had many assists with few turnovers. At 5' 11" if he keeps growing he looks to become a mid D-1 to D-1 recruit.

Justin Young of Rivals reports: "Still coming off a broken wrist injury, Jon Hood didn't look like himself in our first viewing of play. On Sunday, he played more like the player that he is. Hood scored roughly 20 points in the first half of action against Raising Champions and did it with a variety of moves. His jumper hit a couple of times, he put the ball on the floor and attacked the rim and he showed nice offensive versatility."

From courier-journal.com:
Aaron Cosby said he's still shaking the rust off his game.
But apparently the Jeffersontown High School junior-to-be has looked sensational on the AAU circuit. Cosby, who sat out last season after transferring from Manual, is playing for the Kentucky HoopStars and had a monster showing at the King James event in Akron, Ohio.
Cosby helped the HoopStars to a 3-2 mark. His best game came on Saturday when he netted 41 points against the Louis Williams Elite team and followed that up with games of 25 and 26 points.
"I just worked out as much as I could (during his time off)," Cosby said. "I had a personal trainer at Hoops and worked out almost every day. I felt better than where I was (before the transfer) this weekend. Once I got comfortable, I felt my game coming back."
It was good timing for his return.
Cosby just last week re-opened his recruiting process. The Class of 2010 guard had committed to UMass but is now looking around. He said Mississippi State, Minnesota, South Carolina and Miami (Ohio) are among the schools showing interest.
But he also noted that Auburn and Mississippi were among the schools watching this weekend and "wanted to know more about me."
Another weekend like that and Cosby will be fielding even more schools.
