Was umimpressive at the state tournament. He's an athlete without guard skills. Very limited abilities on the perimeter. This was stated by more than a handful of folks there including one that works for scout.com. Quite a few people state Guyn and his family were showing their frustration aloud with all the new transfers set to hit SC next year. Will be interesting to say the least.

Saw him at the state AAU tourney as well and was not impressed. Extremely athletic but his ball handling skills were very suspect. Long way to go to be considered a top tier D1 talent as some have said.

Funny that his parents are voicing frustrations over all the incoming transfers, as he was a transfer to Scott County from Henry Clay.

Now let me tell you about the young man. He started at Henry Clay his freshman year at power forward. So when he tranfered to Scott County shortly after Bud Mackey was off the team. Now he was place at point to run the team. Ge'lawn played against 12 out of 25 top teams in the nation at point. Plus Guyn shoots 500 to 1000 shots a day to get better. Starter in the 11 region for two years, made 2008 All District and All Regional team the only sophomore sense Dirk Minnifield. Runs a 4.25 40 yard dash. Ge’lawn Guyn PG 6’3 165 Sophomore. GPA 3.2 Avg. 17 Points 6 Reb. 5 Asst. Recruited by Wake Forest, Penn State, Xavier, Indiana, North Carolina, Louisville, Kentucky, and Western Kentucky. Euton,Jackson,Flannery and Guyn are all really good friends they all played AAU basketball last year. Guyn family likes the other families very well and happy that they are at Scott Co. He will take a unoffical visit to Louisville in June and Wake forest in August. Remember Guyn has two more years in high school at Scott County. He has grown from 5'11 to 6'3 in one year and his docter feel like he has more to go. Ge'lawn has a 6'8 wing spand, all most like Rondo! He would love to play for Kentucky but in other for that to happen he feels that he has alot of work to do. Will be at the UK Elite Camp to show case his talent. Talk about it in the Message Boards There is no question that every year Region 11 produces a lot of talent. Lexington Catholic, Scott County, Bryan Station and Paul Dunbar always have good players. With the addition of two big name transfers, Region 11 is loaded again. All five players on KentuckyPreps.com's list of the top players in the region have Division I potential. Here is the Top 5.
1. Chad Jackson - Scott County
At 6-foot-4, Jackson can play either guard position. He can handle the ball well and he has improved his shot. We feel he has a lot of up-side and we expect him to keep improving. Jackson will play at a high-level Division I program. He lists Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina, West Virginia and Xavier. He recently took a visit to Xavier.
2. Dakotah Euton - Scott County
Euton has already committed to play college ball at the University of Kentucky. At 6-8, Euton can play inside or outside. He's big and physical enough to bang with anyone down low, but he also has a nice touch from the outside, which makes him very tough to guard. You have to respect his outside shot, which means the guy guarding him has to step outside. This frees up the lane for his teammates to get offensive rebounds. Euton, who played for Rose Hill Christian last season, has transferred to Scott County High School. There he will team up with another big man Richie Phares to form a dynamic front court.
3. Richie Phares - Scott County
Phares is a big, physical low post player. At 6-7 and 200 pounds, he has the ability to play with anyone down low. Phares also has a soft touch on his mid-range jumper. He is drawing attention from a lot of Division I schools including Western Kentucky and Cincinnati. He will team up with Euton to form arguably the best front-court in the state.
4. Vee Sanford - Lexington Catholic
Sanford is oozing with potential. When we saw him play at the KHSAA Sweet 16 we saw a player that had Division I written all over him. He has improved his game a lot, especially on defense. Sanford averaged 12.7 points per game this past season, and with Lexington Catholic losing seniors Taylor Stewart, Jordan Smart and Nathan Novosel, Sanford will be Lexington Catholic's go to guy next season. He has already been receiving letters from Virginia Commonwealth, Eastern Kentucky and Vanderbilt. We look for a lot more Division I offers to come his way by the time his days at Lexington Catholic are over.
5. Ge'lawn Guyn - Scott County
Guyn is one of the most athletic players in the state. He is a slasher who can get to the rim and use his 40 inch vertical to shoot over defenders. He is receiving interest from Kentucky, Penn St., Wake Forest, Xavier, Western Kentucky and Dartmouth. Guyn and Jackson could form the best back court in the state.

Now for my last Post now this one! Ge'lawn Guyn is ranked 3th in his class on this site behind to of his team mates. He is working on his game very day shooting 500 to 1000 shots a day! He is a work in progress. So please give the KID a little credit for the two good season in the 11th region. As of right now he is leaning toward Wake Forest and Louisville. Come and see him play then post. At Shelby Co. June 5 5:30pm two games that night.
